Sinful Succulence Morgana

"Not all angels are good."

My first foray into the cosplay world! Worn at CONvergence 2012 (in Bloomington, MN). This is Morgana from the game League of Legends in her Sinful Succulence skin.

This costume is the culmination of over 70 hours (including work on the wings and wig). It's not necessarily the best workmanship on all of these pieces, but as this is the first costume I've ever made, I am damn proud of how it turned out!

A few details:
The wings are built of a PVC frame, padded around the top with a little 1/2" foam, and then draped over with fabric. I attached the wings to my person by bolting a flagpole holder (just a cheap one picked up from Home Depot) to a piece of steel, covering the back and edges with felt, then slipping it between laces of my corset and lacing it up all tight and proper. To keep them from falling back too much, I have an extra strap that slipped in under the shirt through a couple of holes and snapped together with a parachute buckle. I wore this for a little over 4 hours without much pain at all, so the idea has proven to be quite sound!

Wig came from Adra wigs and the ears came from Aradani Studios. The skirt and apron were machine sewed and then the doilies on the bottom of the skirt and appliques were hand sewn on. The shirt was just a simple white shirt bought from Amazon and then decorated to make look like a chef's coat with the use of some of the dark purple fabric from the wings to use as trim (this also went on the hat) and some matching buttons.

And yes, those are in fact real burnt cookies. My apartment was filled with smoke in the process, but the little added touch just made it that much better. XD

Overall, I'm very proud of my first cosplay! I'm excited to do more next year at CONvergence!
